This is a wonderful larger hardcover with dust jacket. 1978 Miller Graphics. Very clean inside. No writing, marks etc. The binding is tight and straight. Full color illustrations from J.J. Audubon. The dust jacket is also very good, clean and shiny with only light shelf wear from display.
The artistry of the great naturalist Audubon was matched by his ability as a writer. His descriptions of the habits of the birds of America and the splendor of its natural environment are written in a delightfully colorful style, while being painstakingly accurate. Audubon's field trips, which began in 1810, lasted some 15 yrs. In order to be closer to the forests which he loved so much, he settled, during this period, in the village of Henderson, Ohio.
The prints in this book are brilliant, the accompanying text is in detailed description of the species illustrated. Wonderful addition to any nature library and sure to be enjoyed over and over by any bird lover, naturalist, and conservationist.
