Historical novel set in North Carolina featuring Johnny, the son of a well-to-do Scottish immigrant during the time of the American Revolution. The main character struggles with what to do and the right course of action when the war breaks out. He is torn between King and Country. In addition, we get to see how Johnny's friends, neighbors and love ones respond to the choice between library and loyalty. The author does not shy away from the issue of slavery either and makes every effort to depict things honestly. Nice addition to any historical fiction vintage library.
